Mixed Media Dance Theatre. Video Artists. 2008

KMA were delighted to collaborate yet again with dancer and choreographer Tom Sapsford (Royal Ballet / Michael Clark), as his video artists, to help create this extraordinarily powerful piece of dance drama.

Fusing dance, spoken word and projection, the rich visual iconography associated with Elizabeth is investigated through a series of still portraits and moving film clips that are projected onto the performer’s shaved head. This bald and pallid surface alludes to the unadorned state of the aging queen. The human head (both animate and inanimate) proved to be a remarkably adaptable projection surface.

Regina will tour in 2009.
