White Ribbons
Indian International Film Academy Awards 2007 – Awards Ceremony. Opening Sequence
With their previous experience of video design for high-profile, live TV shows (The Brits, Smash!Hits Pollwinners’ Party), KMA were asked to produce a four minute film for the opening sequence of the prestigious International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA aka ‘The Bollywood Oscars’) on 9 June at Sheffield Hallam FM Arena.

Erstwhile collaborator Darshan Singh Bhuller choreographed the live performance, which Marcus Romer directed, whilst KMA dircted, filmed and produced a CGI film featuring a procession of Yorkshire people following flying white ribbons through a stylised Yorkshire landscape.
Millions of television viewers worldwide watched the act (broadcast to a global audience of nearly 500 million in 110 countries)– a combination of contemporary dance and a love story, set against a backdrop of Yorkshire places and icons. It featured the track ‘Ruby‘ by Leeds-based band Kaiser Chiefs – remixed by Sandy Nuttgens with a driving drum beat provided by the Dhol Foundation’s Johnny Kalsi.
